Senior Product Engineer · Engineering Lead · UX-Trained Builder

I lead the full lifecycle of scalable web products for enterprise clients across the US, Europe, and Colombia. With a foundation in UX and Interaction Design, I turn ambiguous requirements into technical specs and shippable features. Right now, I’m pushing the frontier of agentic coding and LLM-integrated development: shipping production-ready features faster without lowering the bar.

01. Philosophy

How I think.

Design the system, not just the feature.

I trained as a designer before I ever touched a codebase, and it changed the way I build everything. I don't ship components in isolation. I think in flows, ecosystems, and the maintenance cost three quarters from now. Every engineering decision is a design decision wearing different clothes.

Ambiguity is where I do my best work.

My specialty is translation. I sit with product managers and designers and turn vague business intent into technical acceptance criteria, architecture decisions, and milestones a team can actually ship. Most engineers wait for a perfect spec to land on their desk. I write it.

AI is a power tool, not a crutch.

I'm deep in agentic coding workflows and LLM-integrated prototyping, establishing AI-assisted development patterns that measurably lifted my team's delivery speed. But the judgment, the taste, the architecture. That stays human. AI accelerates the work. It doesn't decide what the work should be.

02. The Journey

Told in chapters.

Chapter 04. Leading Product Engineering

From writing features to defining what gets built.

HugeSenior Web EngineerOct 2023 – PresentMedellín, Colombia

I co-lead engineering for a 13-engineer team, owning technical scoping, architecture decisions, and delivery of customer-facing features for enterprise clients. I operate at the seam between product, design, and engineering, translating ambiguity into acceptance criteria and shipped milestones. I'm also the technical lead for two AI-powered products, prototyping LLM-integrated features and establishing the AI-assisted development patterns that raised the entire team's delivery speed.

Chapter 03. Owning Delivery

First time leading. First time the product was mine.

HugeWeb EngineerApr 2021 – Oct 2023Medellín, Colombia

Promoted and handed ownership of a 0-to-1 internal tool (requirements gathering through deployment, coordinating scoping and delivery across stakeholders). This is where my design training moved into the foreground: I could speak the designers' language fluently, closing the gaps between intent and implementation that most engineers don't even see. I drove frontend architecture decisions and built the reusable component libraries that accelerated the entire product team.

Chapter 02. Building the Foundation

Every layer of the stack, every kind of problem.

HugeAssociate Web EngineerAug 2020 – Apr 2021Medellín, Colombia

My first role at scale. Coming from a UX-focused education, I threw myself into full-stack work (internal tools, features, and fixes across React, Vue.js, and Node.js backends). My eye for detail set me apart early: the work didn't just function, it felt right, because I instinctively understood spacing, hierarchy, and flow in ways that were never on the ticket.

Chapter 01. Where Design Met Code

The role where the dual identity was born.

10 PearlsUX/UI Developer AnalystJan 2020 – Aug 2020Medellín, Colombia

Hired specifically because I could live between design and engineering. While other junior developers matched mockups, I was questioning interaction patterns, improving accessibility, and optimizing responsiveness (because I'd been trained to think that way). I shipped production React components with unusual fidelity and helped deliver an administrative platform that improved daily operations.

03. Capabilities

What I deliver.

Product Engineering

I own features end-to-end: discovery, technical scoping, architecture, delivery, iteration. I partner with product and design to shape what gets built, not just how. Working primarily in React.js, Next.js, and TypeScript, I ship scalable, accessible, performant products for enterprise clients.

AI-Assisted Development

At the frontier of how software gets built. I design agentic coding workflows and spec-driven development practices, prototype LLM-integrated product features, and have established AI-assisted patterns across my team using tools like OpenAI Codex and Claude Code. This measurably improves delivery speed while keeping humans in charge of judgment and architecture.

Frontend Architecture & Design Systems

I build the foundations teams ship on: reusable component libraries, CMS-driven architectures (Next.js + Contentstack), accessible design systems, and performance-first experiences (Tailwind CSS, Core Web Vitals optimization, Adobe Edge Delivery Services). My UX degree means my architecture decisions account for the user’s experience, not just the developer’s convenience.

Technical Leadership & Delivery

Leading a 13-engineer team taught me that shipping great products starts with growing great people. Technical planning, mentorship, cross-functional coordination, stakeholder management. I think about team dynamics the way I think about system design: with intention, structure, and room to iterate. Fluent in Scrum, experienced across Node.js, WordPress, PHP, and Google Cloud when the product demands it.
